Writer who photographed HP Lovecraft's headstone ordered to delete her photo, heaped with abuse

One of my favorite writers, Caitlin R. Kiernan, was the subject of verbal abuse, profanity and homophobic remarks from some sort of security guard when she and her companion went to visit H.P. Lovecraft's grave. The guard attempted to make them delete all of the photographs they had taken, despite the absence of any policy forbidding it. Are cameras like catnip for abusive, power-mad rent-a-cops now?

Als großer Verehrer des Einsiedlers aus Providence war ich auf die Sendung äußerst gespannt. Über weite Strecken hinweg fand ich die Diskussion sehr interessant. Da ich mit Esoterik nicht wirklich was anfangen kann, haben mich die Ausflüge in die Welt der Magie ein bisschen gelangweilt. Aber davon abgesehen: Sehr interessante Sendung mit äußerst sympathischen Gästen.

PS: Lovecraft selbst schrieb, dass er den Namen Abdul Alhazred erfand, weil er so schön typisch arabisch klinge. Ich kann mir ehrlich gesagt nicht vorstellen, dass es ein "echtes" Necronomicon gibt. Es dürfte sich schlichtweg um eine Erfindung von HPL handeln.

PS II: Zu der in Mitteleuropa unausweichlichen Rassisten-Debatte. Wie im Interview kurz erwähnt wurde, war HPL mit einer Jüdin verheiratet. Ganz schön fortschrittlich für einen Rassisten.
