China has long vowed to "reunify" the democratic island with the communist country's mainland, by force if necessary. One of the Chinese military's tools being high altitude balloons. Boston expert says recent flying objects shot down by US could be "adversarial"

In the past few weeks, the United States has shot down four unidentified flying objects, with the first believed to be a Chinese spy balloon. Aerospace experts say the latest sightings appear to be new objects. Joshua Semeter is the director of Boston University's Center for Space Physics. He is also part of a panel researching unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP). The acronym has replaced UFO.

US suspects three unidentified objects it shot down were 'benign'

The White House has said there is no indication three flying objects blasted out of the sky over the weekend by the US military are linked to alleged Chinese spying.

The objects may be "tied to commercial or research entities and therefore benign", spokesman John Kirby said.

US and Canadian officials have not yet located or recovered any wreckage from the three downed aircraft.

Beijing earlier accused the US of "a trigger-happy overreaction".

White House weighs possibility of Biden addressing UFOs

White House aides are weighing whether to have President Biden address the public about a series of unidentified flying objects that were shot down by the U.S. military in recent days, according to an official familiar with the conversations.

Biden has faced an onslaught of criticisms by Republicans in particular who have said the president needs to be more communicative with the public about the issue, particularly after three separate unknown aerial objects were shot down three days in a row last weekend.

Broken AARO? Pentagon UAP Office’s Role Questioned Following Shootdowns

Concerns about odd aerial objects that might pose threats to the U.S. is exactly why the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office exists.

The U.S. military and U.S. Intelligence Community are still trying to sort out the details about three objects that remain unidentified days after they were shot down in different areas within American and Canadian airspace. One organization has remained noticeably absent from much of the official disclosures about the responses to these incidents, the Pentagon's fledgling All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, or AARO. This is both conspicuous and curious since this office was created specifically to focus on issues relating to so-called unidentified aerial phenomena, or UAPs.
