The team of Russian Physicists who assisted in the construction of the Large Hadron Collider for the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), located in Switzerland, are reporting today that an experiment being conducted during the colliders ‘cool down’ phase has resulted in what they are calling an ‘antiquark spree’ that has, literally, “Nailed the heart of Earth”.
The Large Hadron Collider is a particle accelerator collider being built at the European Laboratory for Particle Physics, or CERN, straddling the French-Swiss border near Geneva. It should be completed and ready to start producing data sometime this summer. In it, scientists will be able to smash protons travelling at more than 99.99 percent of the speed of light with protons traveling in the opposite direction at the same speed.

According to Einstein's theory of general relativity, black holes are regions of space where gravity is so strong that not even light can escape. And in the 1970's physicist Stephen Hawking asserted that any information sucked inside a black hole would be permanently lost. But now, researchers at Penn State have shown that information can be recovered from black holes.
A mad scientist is generally a stock character, or a parody of a stock character, of popular fiction, more specifically science fiction. The mad scientist may be villainous, benign or neutral, and whether insane, eccentric, or simply bumbling, mad scientists often work with fictional technology in order to forward their schemes, if they even have a coherent scheme.

When next summer's Olympics roll around, the Beijing Weather Modification Office will be poised to intercept incoming clouds, draining them before they get to the festivities. No fewer than 32,000 people nationwide are employed by the Weather Modification Office -- "some of them farmers, who are paid $100 a month to handle anti-aircraft guns and rocket launchers" loaded with cloud-seeding compounds. Some estimate that up to 50 billion tons of artificial rain will be produced by 2010. But Taylor noted that this has resulted in competition between cities to seed clouds first, and bitter acrimony when when region receives water claimed by another.
Her talk will focus on climate change issues not being discussed in the mainstream media. Discussion topics will include
• The history of manipulation of weather and climate
• The economic and social impacts of weather modification
• Weather as a weapon
• The dangers of climate mitigation.

As the death toll in China's Sichuan province climbs, the nation’s bloggers have joined together in the search for a scapegoat.
Broadband connections across the country are pulsing with rumours of "earthquake omens" involving toads or butterflies - all allegedly ignored by the authorities. Some even talk of a vast pre-Olympic conspiracy.
One blogger from Shandong province, in eastern China, wrote that more than a month ago, he went to his local earthquake resesarch centre several times to report that his animals had been disturbed and restless.
But, he wrote: "They not only ridiculed me, they accused me of making up stories."

Bizarre colorful (luminous/glowing) cloud phenomenon in the sky was observed about 30 mins before the May 12, 2008 Sichuan earthquake took place. This was recorded in Tianshui, Gansu province ~450km northeast of epicenter, by someone using a cell phone.

Though I haven't seen this possibility mentioned anywhere, I'm certain that the folks at Fort Meade have spent a fair amount of time and effort trying to get a definitive answer to that question.
When I saw a map showing how close China's supersecret main complex for making nuclear warhead fuel — codenamed Plant 821 — is to the May 12 magnitude 7.9 earthquake's ground zero, accompanying William J. Broad's May 16, 2008 New York Times story about Western efforts to monitor possible radiation leakage as a result of the quake, I couldn't help but turn cause and effect around and wonder, what if?
