An unidentified flying object exploded in mid-air over a southern Vietnamese island, state media said Wednesday, a day after Cambodia's air force retracted a report of a mysterious plane crash.

An unidentified flying object exploded at about 10:00 AM on May 27th over the northern part of Phu Quoc Island, the Vietnam News Agency reported.

This is a region off the coast of the southern province of Kien Giang. Col. Nguyen Van Qui, military chief of the island district, reported the explosion and consequent discovery of debris.

Islanders on Phu Quoc, close to the coast of Cambodia, heard a loud bang and saw shards of metal up to 5ft-long raining down on them on Tuesday morning.

Local armed forces and volunteers were mustered to help rescue any survivors, believing there had been a disaster.

It was the UFO that carries no extraterrestrial life but transmits information about earth and its habitat. It is the drone of the advanced extraterrestrial civilization.

The Phu Quoc island is divided into 13 big tourist areas and 5 urban areas. 894 hectares are saved for developing the Phu Quoc international airport, about 10 kilometers from the South of Saigon Phu Quoc beach resort and spa. At present about 150 domestic and oversea investors have registered in tourist development in Phuquoc and 46 projects invested in 2000 hectares of the area have been approved.

Ouch Neakk was tending to his water buffalo at 10am on May 27 when a large chunk of steel fell from the sky and landed just four meters away from him.

The 62-year-old farmer from Kampot province's Prek Kreng village said he heard repeated explosions and saw a trail of smoke below the cloud line before more pieces of metal debris began landing his rice field.

"I had no idea what was going on," Neakk told the Post.

"I thought someone was throwing stones at me before I realized it was pieces of steel from an explosion."
